Gym & Periods

Hey! 
I began vigorous gym exercises in the last two weeks after a long period of mild activity. 
I had just had my 3 day period before I began the gym sessions. 
However, I have been on my period since day 3. Bright red, and seems to be getting heavier. And I am very moody. 
Should I be worried? 
Anyone experienced this before?
