just started BC and I'm miserable

So I just started BC and this is my first time ever on hormonal birth control, partially to control my irregular periods (I would go months without)  I'm about 24 days in and I've been bleeding for almost 8 days straight. My libido is hella low (which is really weird for me, I'm used to being ready to go ALL THE TIME). I take it every day, the same time. I'm trying to decide if it's worth waiting it out the three months they say, or to just stop. It's a big bummer because I was hoping to see a "friend" this weekend and I don't want anyone to touch me :(
