First round of IVF in 40s, did it work?

Curious to know how your egg quality was? Did the eggs make it to blastocyst stage? Did you have to 2 or 3 rounds for it to work? Thank you!

I ended up with 9 five-day embryos through 2 IVF cycles.  We did do PGS genetic testing and found that only one was viable (in the 2nd round of IVF).  But, she is a tough one and I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant.  :) I did a lot of research and tried several things to improve egg quality, including acupuncture once a week, took royal jelly and ubiquinol supplements and ate really well/healthy.  Did any of that work? I have no idea. I did the two rounds of IVF within a four month period, and didn't have much time to prepare beforehand.  The sooner you can start trying to improve egg quality before IVF, the better.

Hi---I just turned 41 and I'm 10 weeks pregnant. I did 2 rounds of IVF. The first retrieval I had 22 eggs but only 2 were viable. We froze them and did another round. On the 2nd round I had 18 eggs and 4 were viable. We did the genetic testing of all 6 and had 1 normal embryo. We went for it with our 1 and now he's on the way! In the end all you need is one--my husband kept me strong by reminding me of that.

I am 41 and currently 12 weeks pregnant. It was our first IVF. We did 4 IUIs prior. My AMH was low and the suggestion was donor eggs but we wanted at least one chance with mine. Ended up retrieving only 3 eggs and of those 2 were viable. Both were put in on day 3 and one caught!

I was on clomid / gonal f and made 26 eggs. 17 were able to be retrieved , 2 fresh transferred and only 5 made it to day 5 when they were frozen. Just went for blood work today and we are sadly not pregnant. We will start our 2nd round soon....hope it help. I'm 35 almost 36.
