Grinding teeth normal??

Question

My son just turned 13 months and has been grinting and grinding his teeth.  Is it normal?  Should I make him stop or is it part of teething?  Tmj and grinding teeth runs in my family so I wasn't sure if that's what he was doing or if he's just doing something thats normal part of teething. Thanks

So glad someone else's baby is doing this too! She grinds her teeth and it drives me crazy because her dad and grandma do it. They drive me crazy when they do it too!

I'm thankful for the responses. It let's me know I'm not alone and it's somewhat normal.  I'm surprised there is no answer to fix it other than sticking something else in their mouth..  As if they don't stick enough things in their mouth at this age lol  thanks for the responses and letting me know I'm not alone here. I guess we are stuck with the Paci a little while longer..

My son does it, even when he sleeps. He just thinks it's funny

My LO does this and I make sure to put the binky in when she does and she has gotten into the habit that when she wants to grind she just uses her binky. I'd rather her do this.

Omg my 13m old has started doing this the past week, the noise goes right through me, horrible! Really hoping it is a (very short) phase!

My 12 month old has done this on and off for about 6 months, I absolutelyyyy hate the sound so I always give her a toy to chew on when I notice she is doing it.

My LO does the same. I don't know how to get her to stop besides telling her to and distracting her. I'd love some tips.

2 out of 3 of my boys did this. My youngest still does occasionally, he's 13 months. I do say to stop it, but honestly they don't understand so young. My 4 year old ground his teeth when he was a baby, but he's stopped often I continued to tell him to stop
