"Acting Black"
I see a lot of white girls (obviously not all for y'all that love to get offended) acting like they're black. Wearing box braids, getting ass shots and Botox, gelling down their baby hairs, using AAVE / "talking black" but then when black girls call them out on it they wanna get pissed and play the victim saying they just thought the hairstyle was "cute" or they get defensive and say that black girls shouldn't wear straight weave or dye their hair blonde or wear blue contacts bc we're trying to be white. As if straight or blonde hair is exclusively a white trait 😂. I also notice that majority of the girls who do this are the ones who date black guys. My question is why do white girls try to act and look like black girls? Why do they try to act ghetto? And why is it more acceptable when they do it? Why do they get so defensive when called out about it?
Before y'all get pissed yes I know their are white girls who have naturally full lips and a big butt and I know some white people do grow up in the hood or are mixed but are white passing. I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about the WHITE girls who come from privileged families and live off their parents money but somehow think it's cute to act like they come from the hood.
EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not offended. I'm curious as to why it's such a trend to act black but not cool to actually be black. If you're gonna get your feelings hurt gone and hit that back button. If I go make up my own answer y'all are gonna get mad and say I'm generalizing white people. But then I come ask some white people and y'all mad. 😂.
