TMI - What is this??

So I've been having awful stomach pains for the past 24 hours (after being on my birth control for about 4 weeks now, and being two weeks late for my period) & my period finally started today. I went to change my tampon & found this.. what is it? And should I be worried??

Looks like the lining of your uterus to me. 
This is pretty common when some girls start birth control. Because of the hormones, it sometimes comes out in chunks. 
If you're really worried, save some of it in a plastic baggie and bring it to your doctor.
