Would you sign for a parcel that isn't yours?

I'm furious. This happens to me so damn often. We live at an address that shares the name of an area down our road, except our address ends in "mews" as we live in a mews house.

People never attempted to deliver to the correct address, or check.

Furthermore, I paid for next day delivery before 12pm - and signed. 1pm rolls around and I check the package updates. It's been delivered SOMEWHERE to someone who signed for it as Mohame. That's not anything like my name.
 
FYI, if you live in a mews in London - expect some major fuckery with your deliveries. Doesn't matter if it's delivery food or packages.

I sign for parcels that aren't mine if the person isn't home- I'm assuming the poll means when the intended person isn't home? I also pop them over to the person when they are back. I'd never sign and keep one for myself, that's totally wrong

Is there a place you can put special delivery instructions next time? And just explain that there's two houses with the same address.

I only sign if it belongs to someone who lives with me. I've never had an issue of another house's deliveries coming here though

I would sign for a family member whom may not be home at the time of delivery.

I might, only because  I order  online so often, that I dont  even look at the name on the shipment.... But I have gone  home  to packages that werent mine,  but had my address... Thank god they were actually homeowners so i just  googled  their name  and brought  it to the right house one street over.  It was an overnight package  for a disney vacation (thats what the outside said)  so I could  only imagine sending it back might mess up their  plans.  I get  small packages pr mail often for places a couple  of houses down... and i always just walk it over.  Never felt the need to keep it.

My SIL lives in the same apartment complex and I take her packages while she's at work all of the time, but I'd never sign for someone else's delivery.
