Cord Blood Banking?

Blood banking seems to be a huge step forward in medicine, and I really want to blood bank for all my children, even possibly donating some of the blood we bank if we're on our 4th or 5th baby. 
 
 
Just curious as to if you would do it? What are your thoughts?

We aren't banking my daughter's because we're doing delayed cord clamping. When it's clamped right away a baby loses about 30% of his or her's blood volume. So we will wait until it stops pulsing, so you know she's gotten as much as she can back, and then clamp it.

I'd rather practice delayed cord clamping, which I know will benefit my child, then pay big money to put it up knowing the chance my child would ever use it is slim to none.

We donated cord blood to a public bank. I often wonder why more people don't do it... cord blood stem cells can be lifesaving for so many!

I researched this when I was pregnant and it's very expensive and the chance you'll need it is slim to none.  Guess it's nice to have to donate if you can afford it.
