Moms gluing bows on their daughter's heads?

So apparently some mothers have taken to gluing bows to their baby's heads to identify them as female. How do you feel about this?

I personally think it's over the top and unnecessary. Also wondering what glue they're using because it can cause reactions and I even saw some mom's in the video gluing it to their hair (ouch).

Edit: Apparently it's Girlie Glue that "easily" washes off with water. Not sure how much I believe that since it looks sticky and seems like it would be a mess, but I don't know.
