Missed Period

Ok so I'm new to this posting thing but I need help. I was suppose to get my period sometime this week but I haven't gotten it and on Thursday I went to my doctor to take a pregnancy test and it came out negeative. So I don't know why my period hasn't come yet. Sonia there another reason why I missed it or hasn't come in yet or should I take another test by the end of the month?
