Late period, pregnancy test?

How long do you have to wait to take a pregnancy test after you missed your period? I'm late by 4 days but from I've read, its best to take it two weeks after your missed period. Is this true?

Answer

Most tests are plenty sensitive enough to detect pregnancy as soon as the period is missed. The reason why some women choose to wait is because they're trying to conceive and that early in the pregnancy, miscarriage is extremely common.

The waiting is to make sure the pregnancy is out of the spontaneous abortion (chemical miscarriage/chemical pregnancy, whatever you want to call it) danger zone so that they don't get excited too soon.
