Obgyn Doesn't Do Ultra Sounds On Site..?

I recently booked my first Intake appointment to be told my OB doesn't do Ultra Sounds On Site..? Has anyone else experienced this? If so how did you get your first Ultra Sound did your OB give you a referral or what..?

Mine just sent me to their local hospital branch and they did my ultrasound there

My midwife doesn't do them. There's a place here that does ultrasound and X-rays and stuff! 
They just booked the appointment for me a couple weeks ahead of time!

Mine gives me an order, and I can have it done anywhere that does ultrasounds. She is affiliated with a few local hospitals, and its easiest to do it through those.

It seemed odd to me at first, but now that I'm further along and have my second ultrasound scheduled in 2 weeks, it's really not that much of an inconvenience.

You're doc office will most likely give you a list of places to call and schedule. Mine did.
