confused as hell and really need advice

My period was due on Saturday and nothing happened Sunday night came and when I wipes there was a bit of discolour like a brown but nothing else came of it, Monday morning came and there was brown discharge when i wiped, one minute it was there next minute it wasn't, I had this all day of on and off discharge same with Tuesday but it was more off on Tuesday this has never happened; never spotted like this I got excited thinking finally I could be pregnant This morning Wednesday there was blood it's not a lot but there is blood, what's happening? I'm so confused and so disappointed? Does this mean I'm having my period now? This has never happened. Please somebody help :(
