Am I alone in this?

I don't know why it bothers me so much when ADULTS call me momma or mommy on a regular basis. Am I alone in this???

What does it for me is when it's used certain ways...like an adult saying "hi mommy" and then throughout the workday referring to me as "mommy." It makes me want to scream, "I'M NOT YOUR FREAKING MOM!!! I GET IT I'M PREGNANT, LEAVE IT ALONE NOW" 
 
There are some older women that will say to me "How's momma feeling today?" And it doesn't bother me at all.

I don't know...maybe I'm just losing it!

I also absolutely hate being called mommy, mama, mom from someone other than my own child and I will correct them and make them feel weird lmao

My close friends and family will occasionally ask me "How's mama feeling today?" And I think it's actually sort of sweet... we are all excited about the baby and it's their way of celebrating hat I'm becoming a mommy.

I don't know how you stop people from doing that but it makes me feel weird too. It's just sorta strange. Like yes I'm pregnant but I still have an identity and a name lol

Yesterday I got an e-mail from a consultant at work that started with "Hi Mommy" and had to blink a few times before reading the rest because he's usually very proper. I hope he doesn't do it again because it was very strange...🤷🏽‍♀️

That's personal preference! If you don't like it, that's totally fine! You can't stop people from doing that but maybe you could try letting them know how you feel and they might stop doing it!
