We're thinking of naming our boy Ransom Douglas. Both are family names. Thoughts?

My kids PE teacher named her kids Slick and Danger. I just keep thinking... I wish I had the balls to name my kid something as unique and badass as that. So yes, I think the name you picked rocks!

I feel as though I like this name against my better judgement! To be fair, I think it is absolutely not immune from the same issues as other similar names, like Maverick, which I hate -- many people will think it's stupid, it may be an issue on resumes, etc. However, I think the fact that it is a family name is really cool, and I think that lets you get away with a lot. I also just think it sounds charming (and like a real name, because it is) in a way that similar-sounding names like Maverick, Cash, etc just don't for me. Ugh, I'm a little torn, but I think the family name thing puts me over the edge towards saying go for it!
