Advice: My boyfriend texts with his ex, he has a long history with her. should I be worried?

Hello,

So , my boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year now and now have a house togather . 
He told me about his ex girlfriend; thy have a long history, they dated for 6 years and had so much drama around it with her cheating and other things, but then he says they are good friends now . I had no problems with it when we started dating but after a while and since we started to live togather I sarted to notice they text way too much details about their lives, send selfies, I even saw a pic of them when they were dating that was shared by her and some texts following it , 
I mentioned to him a couple of times I don't find it comfortable and that even if he says they are friends and I trust him ,this felt wrong for me. 
He says she is a good friend and they share moments of their lives like anyother Friends but I have this feeling I can't shake off that this is way too much to talk about with ex.

What do you all think am I over reacting or do I have the right to actually say stop your contact with her because it makes me feel uneasy

You are definitely NOT overreacting. If he was to be so overly friendly with her then he can go be with her! They have no ties together besides a past relationship that didn't work out. He wouldn't like it if you did that so he shouldn't!

I WOULD NOT be ok with that type of contact with an ex. I think it's great when people leave a relationship without hatred and hard feelings as it shows a sense of maturity. It honestly sounds like they don't want to let go of each other completely. That would scare me.

No way! I have a long 9 year history with my ex fiancée no way in hell would I be keeping in contact with him!!! And my partner was with his wife for 13 years and not a chance he would be allowed to message her!!!! People need to move forward in life and you can't do that by keeping baggage around that makes potential life partners feel uncomfortable!!!!!

Thank you so much for the advices: 
So i have spoken to my boyfriend about it and he said he will stop talking to her for me if its too much for me to handle, but he was so broken and sad about it , i told him its never my intention to tell him what to do.
I explained to him that i just want to understand their freindship and have closure and not feel insecure about their emotional connection even if there is no romance between them. So i asked him if i could meet her and talk this through since its only him and her that can undertand what they have and that i can only make speculations of what ever they talk about is a connnection they created to preserve what they had in the past. 
However, its been weeks and he didnt make the meeting happen, 
So i told him i will text her and ask her my self if i could meet me and talk this through because the feeling i have about this is not going away, 
Ps: i am very close to his friends and meet them most of the time when we chill and he says she is as good of a friend like the other friends he has but i have only seen her once on his birthday, so what i know of her is a one time hello, and texts that she has with him so i cant really know her side,.

So am meeting her tmw and want to clear things with her about their past and how things span out to friendship , 
So guys let me know what else i can discuss with her and how to handle this .

You're definitely not over reacting at all! I'd be upset and uneasy if I saw my husband doing that. (Even when we were just dating, it wouldn't be okay) especially now that you're living together, you see more of what he does everyday and his interactions with other people, including his phone useage. And if I saw that my significant other was texting an ex constantly, or even not a lot, I'd feel super uncomfortable.
Just approach him with love, but with genuine concern and feeling, and let him know that you know you said you were okay with it in the beginning...but now that you and him are serious and living together, and now that you see just how much interaction they have and the content of it as well, it bothers you. Reiterate that you trust him, but you don't know or trust this other girl and this doesn't sit well with you.
He should be attentive of your feelings and respect your wishes. If he doesn't, and if he gets angry or defensive about it, then something is wrong.
