Brown Discharge-No Pic but a little graphic

My period started last Thursday. I had a normal period that lasted my usual 4 days. Yesterday, I when I got home from work I noticed a brown discharge much like I have on the last day of my period, and it is still there only not as much. I had no cramps or anything so of course I was startled. I recently came off my birth control, so is it possible that it is from that or maybe it didn't completely get rid of everything during my period?
