Any family members you Don't want around your child?

Sigh.... so my mom is in major denial of her drinking problem and I am afraid even with a baby on the way she won't change her stripes.

It's sad that she can't look beyond herself to change but I have to come to that realization. She talks about what she wants her granddaughter to call her... things like 'mom mom' and 'mimi' and it seriously gets me so upset that she refuses to be called Grandma, but she doesn't care.

Because of her drinking I don't trust her around my baby alone and do not look forward to laying down the law about how she is not to look after her grandchild without supervision. It's sad and it worries me but I feel like there's no other way.

Literally the only blood related people I will let alone with my child are my mom, my husbands parents, my husbands sister and one aunt. That's it. And I have a Huge family.

There is a lot of alcoholism, substance abuse and just awful stuff and I don't feel bad one bit 💁

My child wont be around my mother. We have never gotten along and havent spoke to her in a long time. My kid wont even know anything about her. I have a wonderful stepmom that will be my childs grandma!

My father doesn't even know I have a kid. My little brother is not allowed to be with her alone, and my mother is not to give her anything to eat or drink without me checking it first. It's completely logical to want to set reasonable rules for people who have proven to be untrustworthy, especially concerning a vulnerable baby.

As for being called grandma, I wouldn't personally worry about that until the kid starts talking. You never know what's going to happen. I always assumed we would use grandma for my mother, my daughter couldn't say it. She had a speech delay and it was too hard to her, so it became Oma. Now all the grandkids call her that.

My MIL's husband is the creepiest human alive and I never want him to interact with my child. He has 0 social skills and gives off a threatening vibe. It's really difficult because my husband obviously wants his mom to be involved and her husband is always around her.

My kids aren't aloud to be with my finances brother. I don't feel bad,  there my kids so I will decide what's best.   My fiance agrees.

I don't have kids yet but I don't want my dad around my future children. He's emotionally abusive and has anger issues. I don't want my children to ever have to fear for their lives because of his unstable anger.

Luckily all of my close family members are ok. I'd be umcomfortable leaving my baby with my MIL & SIL though, they haven't really done anything but my MIL is blind so obviously she can't be alone with the baby & my SIL isn't the most responsible so that's a no. Why does it bother you that your mom doesn't want to be called "grandma". Majority of people I know call their grandmother's by a different name

I'd be okay with even the ones I don't care for seeing them.. they wouldn't be watching them alone tho.

My husbands uncle will never be alone with any of my kids. From the moment I met him he made me feel uncomfortable. But luckily we both have really good family members that I trust.
