Endometriosis?

I'm seventeen and I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis. I was bleeding quite heavily every period since I was about 15, which involved very painful cramps and I would end up vomiting/sort of comatose and would have to miss school. I'm taking a progesterone only birth control and it's definitely helped, but I was wondering how any (if any) of you deal with it if you have it? No one my age really has it and no one in my family does either so I'm feeling sort of lost /: Is there anything you do to keep it at bay?
