Baby-toddler room share?

Question

I am considering having my 2 month old(once she leaves our room) and my then 22month old share a room. Am I crazy? I don't HAVE to but it will avoid a lot of headache and room moving around with my other kids. It would only be for the baby's first year until the 22month old is old enough to move downstairs.  What are your success/disaster stories.

It can be done but even at 2 months the baby will be waking up every couple of hours and will disrupt your toddler. I now my toddler gets nasty when he gets woken up or doesn't have a full night sleep.

This baby and my youngest daughter (11.5 months now) will be sharing a room as soon as the new baby is sleeping through the night.    I will not put them together until then because my Megan is MISERABLE if she doesn't get her sleep

It would disrupt your toddlers sleep honestly... I'd put them apart until little one can sleep through the night. I'll have to do the same.

It may not be the best for your older child as they are probably more regulated in their sleeping patterns and the baby crying and you entering the room all the times and night will disturb them and wake them up. It could do more harm to your oldest

My kids have always shared a room they are 21 mo the apart (now 11 and 9 yo) they just learned to adjust! Also we don't have an extra room so it's just out reality. Go for it if it feels like it'll make life easier for you - good luck!

My kids always slept together from a very young age!  The toddler quickly learns to sleep through baby noise!
