They consulted with counsellors and suicide experts on how to handle the topic (so as not to harm at-risk viewers).... then did the OPPOSITE of what they were asked to. Right up to showing the suicide and romanticizing the whole situation (everyone will think you're beautiful amd misunderstood if you kill yourself and they'll realize they were wrong and should never have hurt you). They didn't even include suicide hotline numbers at the ends of the episodes. So disrespectful and insensitive.

I haven't seen the show, but that just grinds my gears.

i don't like it but not because of the suicide part, everyone says she's selfish and stuff but mental illness makes you act in odd ways. what hate is how slow each episode goes, how fake they make everything seem, and the dumb drama. that's not how things play out in real life. it also irritates me that people are basically saying some stupid ass show is what made them realize they shouldn't be total shitheads to other people. like yeah it's good you realize that but damn, it should be common sense.

I didn't like it because I find it sooo extra. She couldve done so much more than to kill herself. Then on top of that she doesn't take responsibility. She blames everyone else and makes them feel even shittier about the whole situation. Because of a few bullies. Her parents didn't even know what was wrong and I just idk. It's just real selfish and immature.
