What to do...

Question

I'm 7 1/2 weeks post partum. I was supposed to have my post partum check up on Monday but my period was really heavy and I called to reschedule. They can't get me in until May 22nd. Thats another whole month. Am I really supposed to wait that long to use tampons and have sex? Apparently they don't have a cancellation list either. Help..

I also don't see why you rescheduled. A period or postpartum bleeding is nothing compared to the amount of blood loss during delivery (whether vaginal or csection). I would say you need to wait though. Without being examined by a doctor you can't know if you have any open wounds still or any other issues. Also what makes you think it's your period? Are you formula feeding or breastfeeding? Most breastfeeding moms don't get a period until around 20 weeks postpartum or later. Another thing, can't you go see a different doctor at a different clinic? Sure they weren't there for your delivery or pregnancy but they should be able to tell that everything is okay especially if you have your chart sent over.
