No AF after miscarriage but ovulating?

Question

This isn't an easy subject to talk about but I need input..
I had a miscarriage the beginning of April. The bleeding happened less than a week before my expected period.. I stopped bleeding after 2 days so after about a week we decided to start TTC again. 
My question is...
Can I ovulate without having a period? Or could those two days of bleeding been considered my period?
I've been taking ovulation tests and it showed positive.

So sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage back in January and then had some leftover tissue that didn't want to let go. So I didn't get my first post-miscarriage period until the beginning of April. I did a lot of looking online and you absolutely can ovulate before your first period!!! But I also read that ovulation tests aren't very accurate after a miscarriage. If there is any HCG still in your system it can give you a false positive on ovulation tests.
