1st ultra sound coming up, what to expect?

So I'm having a transvaginal ultrasound on 5/4 and then see the doctor on 5/11 for the first time. Since our ultra sound will probably just be with a tech, I'm not sure how much they are allowed to tell us. Can they speculate on how many weeks I am?  Can they say if everything looks okay to them?

At my first transvaginal u/s was this past Monday (7 weeks 2 days) the technician measured the baby and told us that it was measuring as expected, and said my estimated due date would stay the same (going off my last period) . She also showed us the heartbeat and then let us hear it too! She told us the beats per minute (144) and said it was a healthy heart rate. She also checked my ovaries and told me about a very common cyst that I have on one of them. She gave me a packet of information including medicines that are safe to take. Of couse she also gave us pictures of the baby ❤️ My next appointment is on May 15 where I'll see the doctor and do the genetic screening bloodwork.

Answer

It depends. I have had techs that can't say anything and ones that show us everything. I think it just depends on hospital policy and their level of training
