joint pain in hands?

Recently I have had really bad joint pain in my hands and wrist. Mostly at night but now it's bad in the day. I rubbed cream and massaged my hands together which actually made it worse!! I've read it could be carpel tunnel syndrome but don't wanna read too much into it. It's actually stopping me from getting on with normal stuff as it hurts to grip things now without pain 😑 anyone else suffering with this? Any home remedies? X
