Why have a natural birth?

Question

I have my reasons for wanting a natural birth but sometimes I feel like I will easily give in to the pain. I need to strongly believe in my decision in order to not give in. I would love your opinions. Why choose to have a natural birth? What is/are your main reasons? Thank you in advance for the feedback!

I believe the way we are born matters. Unfortunately birth has been taken over by doctors and hospitals. We spend more than any other country on birth, we intervene more often, and we have worse outcomes. History tells us that midwives were and still are the better choice when it comes to low risk birth. I'm tired of hearing women say their doctor told them they can't birth their babies. Our bodies were made for this and women have been doing this for generations. My grandmother gave birth at home by herself! She's one strong lady and I'm glad we don't have to do that today. Every intervention leads to more interventions, not less. That's why I am choosing a birth center with a midwife. I will need a strong support system so I will also have a doula.

When I first went for a natural birth, I had watch the businesses of being born. The more informed I became the esier the decition became no matter how scared I was of the uncertain. The midwife we found was/is amazing. I felt so full of self worth, and strength, when the time arrived I was on top of it. I became one with my body and my child too. It was an experience that made birth something to admire and not be afraid of. As if I had found a bran new purpose, its such an empowering experience to allow the body to do what it does best. My kid was 9lb 1oz wide shoulders (he got stuck after his head was out for a very breef time) and my cervix also hurt the side of his head just a little it was a tiny bit small. But I did it, naturally slow process kind of, but being able to be one with my body was just amazing. Of course this veries from person to person, not only by support group but other factors too. :)

I was more determined for s natural birth after being induced with pitocin without my knowledge to speed up my labour ... When I found out I was totally in shock and so angry I felt I was deceived as a first time mother . Next time I know very well what to do.. I am sort of high risk due to delivering early but when my labour comes I will strongly refuse to be hooked up with any sort of IVs and will make them respect my choice and options. I will be making a birth plan soon and am planning to give a copy to my on and to the nurses and one at the door!

I did it both times so my kids weren't born drugged. I wanted them to be fully aware when we met for the first time. My second reason was that I was determined to breastfeed and drugs given during labor have been proved to cause problems with babies not latching on properly. My daughters 3, son is 16 months and both are still breastfeeding happily so I know I made the right choice for me and will do it again in dec when the next baby joins us

Because the body is AMAZING! I was planning a home birth and miscarried around 12 weeks in February, but I did it naturally and while it was so painful emotionally, it showed me how your body just knows what to do if you give it a chance. I got a BFP yesterday (!!!!) and am even more confident that a home birth is what I want.

I hate shots.
I hate the idea of an epidural more than just naturally having a baby.

I had my first baby naturally with water birth and I'm so pleased.

Natural birth is less painful than induced labor, so you can do it!! It's healthier for your baby and you! You get to breastfeed right away and hold the baby... You get better care overall and you are experiencing it the way nature and God intended!!

Natural birth makes for fewer complications and you'll know what to expect for future babies without wondering.

You can feel so strong and empowered knowing that you did it by yourself!!

With all that said, even the most determined person could still end up with epidural, c section or worse. But I learned that everyone is happy as long as baby and momma are safe and sound.

I live that you are trying for natural birth, because it's the best way to go! Gotta prepare for any possibility!

for me i just love the connection that my mind makes with my body and knowing that after waiting for 9 months me and my baby are working so hard together so that we can finally meet ❤️ i always feel the most comfortable in home-like settings and hospitals make me uncomfortable in general.

I had a natural birth because they don't give drugs at home! I probably would've accepted some if they did! Lol. I chose natural because I didn't want a sleepy baby at birth and because I had never had anesthesia so I didn't know how I would react.
