is it possible to be starting to dilate/efface at 36 weeks?

I have my 36 week appointment coming up in a couple days and I am sort of hoping to be dilated to like a 1 or at least starting to efface, were any of you starting to progress towards labor at 36 weeks?

I started effacing then, and stayed dilated at a 1 for like a month. Had my baby at 40w1d.

What does effaced mean? I keep seeing it. My 36 week check up is in 2 weeks so I'm curious

Yes! I was 2cm dilated and 70% effaced at 36 weeks!
