boyfriend is bad responder

I love my boyfriend And he's amazing in every other way but he is bad at responding to my texts and what not. I don't think he means to and he occasionally apologizes For it or I'll call him out on it but I've never said how it bothers me rlly. should I not try to change him cuz that's just how he is or what. he's 17 and I'm 15
