picky 8 month old mainly breastfeeding

My lo is 8 months and mainly breastfeeds. I tried to introduce foods at 6.5 months and lo had horrible gas and rashes  and would wake up crying at night in pain. I waited 3 more weeks and tried again and it was better but lo hates rice cereal or oatmeal won't eat it and can only handle 1 purée a day and prob only half of it. He's eaten puréed pears, prunes, green beans spinach. I tried to give mashed bananas to him and he gagged and vomited. I'm worried bc how do I make sure he's getting enough iron. I give vitamin d drops daily. What do I need to make sure he's getting? He will not do rice cereal or oatmeal for the iron and he will not do baby led weaning bc he vomits - has anyone gone through this ? He also has no teeth.
