Anxiety Help

Hey ladies,
So anxiety is something I've been dealing with for a long time and kind of "sweeping under the rug." 
I've tried meditating, drinking teas that are supposed to help, yoga and using different essential oil blends (through roll on perfumes and air diffusers). 
Although some of these things help, none of them work for more than a few minutes or 1-2 hours max.
My anxiety gets so bad that I can't sleep and when I'm awake I feel physically nauseous and on the verge of tears. I have zero appetite and I get shaky. Even though I'm exhausted, I do my best to cut out caffeine whenever my anxiety flares up, so I'll only drink half a cup of coffee if I absolutely need it to stay awake.
I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with similar issues and how you've learned to cope with it. I'm really considering seeing a doctor (if my insurance will cover it), but my mom has a long history of substance abuse  and mental illnesses that has made me anti-medication up until this point.
