Have you experienced this with IUD?

Hi ladies!

I've had my Mirena IUD for almost 2 years now. I never really used to feel ovulation cramps until I got it inserted. My doctor has told me it's totally normal, but the intense cramps sometimes kill me. Anyone else experience that pain? Should I get it taken out?

YES.  I had the Paragard- not only were my periods long and wickedly painful, but I experienced intense cramping with ovulation- which I had NEVER felt before.  Got it removed two months ago and have had zero cramping since.  Not even on my period.

I had the Mirena for the full 5 years. My periods were always pretty painless before I got the Mirena, and I didn't have any pain the whole time it was in. I'm not sure why there would be more pain with the Mirena (I've heard that story with the Paraguard), or if it could be normal. I just know I never had any issues when I had it in. Sorry.

I just got it a month ago, almost 2 months ago actually. And my doctor said your cramping is going to be a lot worse than normal. But I have yet to experience it.
