Thoughts on Oragel for babies?

My 10 month old is teething pretty badly just at night. She wakes up every hour crying in pain, not just her "I want mommy" cry. We've tried giving her some baby Tylenol just on the nights when she's slightly feverish from the teething but it doesn't seem to help with anything besides bringing down the fever. I'm just curious as to what some people think of orajel? I'm a little uncertain of it because 1)teething will pass soon and 2)it's a local anesthetic and I would feel weird giving that to my baby, especially orally. Thoughts? Also feel free to throw in some other advice to help with teething☺

Our pediatrician told us very sternly to not use orajel ever! It has been known to cause problems with the baby's blood. Here's a quick snip of why. You can look it up yourself and decide what you'd like.

For teething, we steeped a clean washcloth in chamomile tea, then froze it and gave to baby to chew/suck. Also, Motrin and Tylenol really work wonders.

I use an all natural clove teething gel when nothing else works. I know clove is somewhat controversial so I use it sparingly. I think the main concern with clove is if there is a reaction or overuse but he hasn't had any. I also have put a Baltic amber anklet on my boy and he has helped tremendously. I have been using essential oil blends for teething as well, they took a week or so to start kicking in but now we just use them at night time and as needed

The baby Oragel is almost always recalled, use children's Motrin instead! My doctor swears by it for her kids and patients and that's what I've used. We got some baby Oragel a while back but never used it cuz I read about a recall and so I tried it on my gums and holy hell it numbs your whole mouth like crazy! You could maybe also try a Baltic Amber teething necklace. Idk if they really work or not but my daughter got 5 teeth all at once and wasn't too miserable!

My MIL (nurse) told us to get the natural orajel, I'm not sure what it's called, because it doesn't have a numbing agent in it, but it helps with pain. They don't like to give babies anything with numbing in it since it can cause them to choke.

Do they make a special one for babies? I've used it and it definitely gets rid of pain but my tongue and throats were also very numb

The concerns I've heard about it is that it can cause numbness in the throats if not applied properly and that can cause other types of issues to happen
