I started losing mine at least two weeks before baby actually came. Just because you lose yours doesn't mean baby is mere hours away. It can actually regenerate and you'll not have the babg for a while. Also you may not lose it at all until you're in in actual labor.

My came out while I was peeing at the hospital before my c-section. It was gross!

It doesn't always come out, a lot of women don't even notice when it does. And your mucus plug can grow back.
