Vennnnnt- my fiancé and Trump
I did not want to get into the debate tonight, just wanted to watch Handmaid's Tale in peace... But I made the mistake of telling my fiancé that I had read somewhere that after the election some person compared Handmaid's Tale to a world post Trump. He started in with liberals and blah and I really didn't want to. Tried to ignore it and then finally snapped and yelled at him to just drop it.
Awkward silence for the night but I knew it was bothering him. So while we are in bed he brings it up. More debating and I told him this is why I didn't want to talk about it.
The thing is, he wants this open dialogue constantly where we can talk things through when I'm fine with just agreeing to disagree and moving on from politics. It's not that I don't ever want to talk about it, I just don't want to when I'm enjoying the last of my weekend.
No real question. Just a quick vent because uuuggghhhh.
