Penis joke

Last night I made a joke about the size of my boyfriend. I thought he would laugh and "insult" me as well. We usually joke around like this. But he didn't think it was funny. He said bye we're over. I said stop being dramatic, he said goodnight. I thought he was joking so I continued to joke( not about his size). He told me he wasn't laughing and I really pissed him off. I apologized twice and the first time he said he had to go and the second time he said ok. I haven't heard from him since. I think he's overreacting. I'm not sure what to do. Should I reach out to him?
