Was it rape?

I just need some validation. I was with a guy (strictly just sex) and one day we met up and it was a day I was on my period. He asked to do anal. I declined but he said it will be "really fast." I said I guess so. As he was doing it I said it hurt and I want to stop. He kept saying "hold on I'm almost there". I tried to pull away and he wouldn't let me go. I just kept quiet after pleading him one more time to stop and he didn't. Idk I just need some support because I feel like I was taken advantage of and I should have more respect for myself. I don't know what to call it really. Has anyone gone through this?
