how long should I wait to take a test?

New to this when my husband and I got pregnant for our daughter it was with a fertility clinic so they did blood work and I know that shows up faster then a test dose. I was wondering how long I should wait to take a pregnancy test I took one yesterday and it said it was neg my period is sup post to start tomorrow but on Friday and Saturday I was crampy and then today I have been super sick to my stomach so should I wait a little longer and test again?
