What do you think about the name Jayk for a boy. It's pronounced like Jake.

I have always liked the name jayk (jake). I have no clue where I got that spelling from but that's the way I want to spell it.  My husband doesn't like it spelled that way. So I'm trying to see who has more support on this one.

I think it's awful. Think of him as a professional adult, constantly having to correct people from spelling his name as "jake" to "jayk".

Of course it's ultimately your choice, but I immediately wanted to say jaykay when I saw it, then add an lol or a smiley face.  Jake didn't occur to me until I finished reading your explanation.

I spelt my oldest' name weird and have regretted it every day since, no one spells his name right on the first try and people pronounce it wrong. I liked the uniqueness at the time but now I'm like "ugh, why was I so stupid"

Mykel is my husband. He hates the fact that his mother used his name is her creative space. I'd be good with it personally, but I'd fail him if I didn't at least say something.
