He/she/it/the baby?!?!??!

Just curious as to what ppl use to refer to their baby before finding out the gender.  I feel like I'm having a girl so I say "she has a strong heartbeat" but my husband and my 9 year old make it a point to correct me every time lol

My husband called our baby Tax as in "tax deduction"! Lol! I called him "Baby" or "Slug" because he feels like a slug moving around inside of me.

I called him "baby" before we knew. Though as we got closer to finding out my fiancé would always say he and so sometimes I'd catch myself accidentally saying it and well turned out it was a boy.

I just use gender neutral "they" pronouns. I hate when people say "it" about my baby, makes me wanna smack em!

I say "It" or "He". I'm convinced it's a boy. We aren't finding out until birth tho 🤗

If it's just be and my fiancée talking, we call her Freya or she.

And if we're around other people then it's "it", baba or baby, because we're keeping the gender a secret :)

We can't find out before the birth (it's illegal here), but I don't mind, as I'm happy either way :)

We just use gender neutral pronouns 'they'/'their'. I think 'it' feels more like you're referring to an object, and 'the baby' felt too soon too. I have some transgender and gender fluid friends, and they've said that 'they'/'their' is acceptable, but 'it' is rude when referring to someone who's gender you either don't know, or are gender non-conforming.

We call her by her name ( Penelope ) . Before we found out the gender it was nug bug ( as in nugget bug bc he calls me his sugar bug so he or she was the smaller version of me )
