Babymoon in Kauai

Hi everyone! My husband and I are over the moon excited about our first pregnancy, and we want to celebrate this summer with a babymoon in Kauai! We'll be going in mid-July (hot, I know) since that's the best time for my husband to take time off work. I've never been to Kauai so my question is about where to stay! Princeville (north shore) looks beautiful, but I am worried about the location because it's so far from everything else on the island, and I get car sick easily, especially now that I'm pregnant! Has anyone stayed on the South Shore? Was it easy to drive to other parts of the island? Were there lots of attractions nearby (less than an hour driving)? What hotel did you stay at? We're looking for a relaxing and luxurious resort for less than $500 a night, preferably closer to $400. Thanks in advance!
