$100 use in US stores?

Question

Just wondering if most stores will accept $100 bills at US stores? I'm hoping to head down for shopping but the bills I have are mostly in 100s and I don't want to break them unnecessarily. (Of course I won't be a jerk and use a hundred bill for small purchases. 🤗)

Smaller gas stations and stuff sometimes can't but bigger ones do. Or go to a bank and ask for exchange for $20 dollar bills or something.

If you are going into a big store like walmart or macys then yes theyll accept $100 bill but if youre at a gas station or fast food then no most wont because they usually dont keep that much to change out on hand and if they do they need a manager to get into the safe

Really depends on the store. Certain stores are no higher than $20 or $50. I would just get  a few of your $100 bills split up into $20 bills and $50 and keep the rest as $100 bills that way you have something on you that they will take. My SO likes to carry cash and usually will take it out so he has a little bit of everything

I use them all the time. If they're the newer ones with the blue hologram you should have no problems at all. The older style green people look at more because they're highly counterfeited. If stores don't take them, they will have a sign saying they don't. Otherwise, use at will I say.

Mostly fast food restaurants or gas stations won't except anything higher than a 50$ or 20$ just depends :) but most stores would gladly accept it! :)
