HELP!!!

I need some advice!! I've seen a few of you post about liking sex a lot. I am one of those women that LOVE sex. My boyfriend, is constantly coming up with excuses for us not to have sex and I don't know what to do about it?!! If I want it, I have extreme troubles going to sleep but he sleeps perfectly fine.. I've explained it to him so many times but he never seems to get it. He tells me I need to learn to go without it just because his ex made him go months without it. When we first got together we did it all the time! Every time we were together! Just constantly! Now it seems he only wants it when I go away for a few days... What should I do? Is there anything I can do to make him want it more?
