Have any women experienced a water birth?

Question

I have watched a few videos of water home births. The mothers seem so much calmer and the babies as well. Any feedback would be appreciated as I try to decide on a birth plan. Thanks.

I had a water birth with my first. I would definitely recommend them, they're amazing! It really helps in labour because it takes so much pressure off your back and hips and so easy to move into a comfortable position. My baby didn't cry at all when she was born, she stayed under the water for a few minutes until we had skin to skin and they cut the cord. She was so calm, it was lovely.

My second was born at home in the water. It was wonderful!

my friend did and she said it was the best thing she ever did , she had 3 before that 1st epidural 2nd and 3rd gas and air and pethidine the water birth she had at home and she said she felt amazing whilst in labour and so much calmer and she said the actual pain wasn't even that bad either x

Friday I'm actually meeting with a doula and speaking to her about the water birth and it benefits I'll let you know.
