What were your first signs of approaching labour?

36 weeks pregnant with baby number 1 🎀

Curious as to others experienced leading up to labour.

Did you notice subtle changes leading up he big day? Or did it come to you as a surprise?

Increased Braxton hicks? Cramps? I'm sure us first time mommies will appreciate this blog.

My daughter made her appearance 2 weeks early and it COMPLETELY caught me off guard! I was at work when my water broke, but it was just a bunch of small gushes so after the third time of running to the bathroom I finally just called my mom to come get me because I thought my water may have broken. I didn't have any contractions, it was weird lol luckily there was another manager there so I could just go. But 13 hours and 3-4 pushes later, she was here!

I had my check up on a Thursday about a week and a half before my due date, I was 2 centimeters already.  After my check up, that night my mucus plug broke but I had continued bleeding through the morning and starting to feel crampy, so I went back to my OB to make sure all was okay!

At this check, the OB told me I was now 3 cm, probably in prelabor, and he would see me this weekend.  My baby shower was the next day of course.

I told my baby he needes to stay in until after the party lol.  I had my baby shower, and that night around 9 pm I started to get what felt like period cramps on and off.  I told my BF we were gonna meet our son that night!

Finally at 12:30 AM the OB gave the okay to go to the hospital.  We were there by 1 AM and I gave birth at 2:56 AM to a healthy baby boy!

My DD came two days early and I was completely surprised! Woke up at 230 am and wasn't convinced I was in labour until 6 30 am. I went to the hospital at 730 am and delivered her at 11 05 am!

I had a really bad back ache and it didn't matter what stretch I did, it still was achy. Then my water broke an hour or so later
