What's your thought on a good parent?

i wanna do a poll cuz I'm tryna get a point across to someone.... not tryna be rude or mean or anything like that... but my sister believes that she had the child with the dad and he needs to be in the child's life. i don't agree with that. if he left then better your life for you and your son. but that's my opinion she will sit there and force me nd my fiance take care of her child so she can go and hang out with people then when i get mad she's like u should be taking care of him not bitching at me about it. i flip on her nd say he's YOUR child not mine. you need to take responsibility for him. (and i know its hard to do it on your own but it will show the child that it doesn't take 2 to parent.)

If the father doesn't want to be there for her or the baby I wouldn't force it. He's just gonna be unhappy and not treat her or the child how they deserve. I get she has good intentions wanting the father to be in the child's life but there's more to think about than just that. I agree if she wants to be a good mom she shouldn't be going out all the time and having your take care of the child all the time. You have you're own responsibilities and she can't expect you to drop them all the time for her. She should think about hiring a sitter if she's going to be gone that often and not take advantage of you. It's nice of you to help out but you shouldn't be raising her child for her. I think she just needs to be more committed to her child, she's missing out on teaching him new things and seeing him accomplish milestones. Hes only gonna be young for so long

Try it this way maybe: there will be one constant love in her life, one who will be worth any man walking away if she is willing to take the time and give the love. It's hard, it's work. Sometimes they tell you they don't like you, but they will still look to you for approval, snuggles and kisses at bedtime. I don't know how young your sister is, but maybe just a reminder that some loves aren't meant to last, but there is one that is meant to last a lifetime and it starts now! Good luck!

Well as for always holding them, I mean, that's just going to depend. I certainly don't think leaving all the time and being so focused on the father is all that great. But I think you need to realize that she is grieving a relationship and that takes time. Yes, she should be with her kid. But try stepping into her shoes for a minute. She had a baby with someone she could have had a lot of feelings for, and now he dropped her and the kid like a hot potato. Perhaps try approaching her with a more sympathetic mindset. Tell her you know it's rough and sad to see the baby be without a dad, but he isn't biting the bait so take the kid to the park and enjoy time with him to get your mind off of it. Maybe go somewhere and invite her places. Take them to the zoo or aquarium and just get her out of the house with the baby so she can focus on him or her.
