How to apply for Medicaid?

I live in Louisiana, and I'm 17w4d pregnant (19 yr old). I was recently fired from my job. I no longer have health insurance and my monthly bill from my obgyn is too high for my and my SO to pay. I've tried to apply to medicaid online, yet all I get is placed on a call list of people wanting me to sign up for sketchy insurance companies. Can anyone give me any insight? I'm very lost and confused. 😖

You have to go online and find the nearest board of social services in your district/township. They usually have at least 1 or 2 in each county. If your ob accept Medicaid they probably have information to where to apply. If you are going to a woman's clinic they usually have their own Medicaid office inside .

Going in person makes sure you get seen/approved faster. That's what my local clinic told me to do and I got approved with an insurance card in like 2 weeks. I had a temporary card before they gave me the day of when I went to the office (I'm in tx)
