Tattoo???

Question

Wanted to get a tattoo something small on my wrist w my son & daughters name ? I'm 30 weeks pregnant? Yay or nay? I researched it and there's not much risk but getting HIV if the equipment they use are being cleaned properly.

You cannot get a tattoo while pregnant. No decent place or artist will tattoo you. The body goes into a small amount of shock during a tattoo. A healthy body can generally handle the shock and the tattoo heals fine. A body that has an infection or is pregnant cannot dedicate the energy to fighting off that shock. The best case scenario - the tattoo heals funny and looks weird the rest of your life. The worst case - the stress causes you to go into early labor and possibly los your baby. 
Wait it out. If you're not breast feeding you only have 10 weeks plus recovery left.

Your research is wrong. Your imune system is low when pregnant. So if you get an infection of the tattoo after you leave the shop it can get very bad very fast.

Plus no legitimate shop will tattoo you while pregnant. If you find a shop that will, you don't want yo go there, even if you aren't pregnant.

Also a legit. Shop will always be extremely clean and you'll watch them open new parts for their tattoo machines and it will all be very sterile. If you don't see all that, leave.

I would just wait. There's still a risk, regardless of how small it is. Better safe than sorry, you don't have much longer to go!

The tattoo parlor I've gotten almost all of my tattoos from has a sign saying they "won't tattoo you if..." and being pregnant is the #1 item on that list
