He's finally here!
My gorgeous little boy decided to make his appearance to the world on 7th may at 9.16pm weighing 8lb 8oz!
I was brought in on the Saturday to be induced early morning. After having the pessary in for 2 and a half hours, it fell out and the modwivea decided not put to it back in as I was already 3cm and contracting well. Come almost 24 hours later, I still hadn't progressed any further so was taken down to delivery suite to have my waters broken.
Got down there, had my waters broken and put on the drip. Contractions started straight away and came in thick and fast. I asked for gas and air when I'd gotten to 7cm after only 2 hours and managed to get to the full 10cm after 3 and a half hours. So I was ready to push.
After pushing for an hour, we realised something wasn't quite right! The midwives went to get a doctor who told me to continue pushing for a little while longer. Turns out he'd gone into the cervix at a funny angle and had gotten stuck. Instead of making his way round the birth canal, he was just twisting in circles.
After 2 hours of serious pushing, 6 doctors came rushing into the room and said they needed baby out as soon as possible so was going to give me a forcep delivery. A doctor tried to twist him round but wasn't able to. So the forceps were attached and he had his appearance!
His face is very bruised and he has a lot of forcep marks and a long head due to being stuck for so long but I couldn't be more in love. My beautiful baby boy 😍
