Baby hasn't moved in two days?

Question

I started being able to feel the baby kicking and even seeing my stomach move from the kicks at 16 weeks. I'm now almost 18 weeks and haven't felt baby move in two days. The past couple of weeks the kicks have been pretty regular if I lay down flat baby goes crazy so I have tried and tried to lay down flat so that baby will move but it hasn't I have been having Braxton hicks contractions for over a week but my mom didn't seem concerned I'm starting to get a little worried considering I went into preterm labor with my first child SEVERAL! Times. Should I go to the ER and get checked to ease my mind or just wait to see if baby moves?

Technically you shouldn't worry about counting kicks until 28 weeks but if you're having BH and have a history of preterm labor I'd give your doctor a call.

It's normal to not feel the baby move at this stage. Braxton hicks are completely normal. I didn't always feel my baby moving that early. The further along you get the more you will feel the baby. I feel my little man all the time and I have Braxton hicks constantly throughout the day.

You're still super early on. Plenty of woman don't even start to feel kicks that early. Babies have lazy days too. And since the baby is still so small you won't feel every movement because you only feel the ones that come in contact with your uterus. The baby easily could have changed positions making it harder to feel.

Kick counts are not done until 28 wks. Make sure you are well hydrated and eating well. Try to relax and think positively. Baby is very small and often will not be felt daily at this stage.

Personally wouldn't go to the ER since you're not actually sure it's an emergency. But you can call your doctor and ask them their opinion. I was pretty sure that was pretty common at that stage in pregnancy though? I could be wrong.

I posted this early I'll update everyone baby finally started kicking after walking around for a little bit and a warm bath he/she woke up and has been moving all day little booger. However I'm almost 99% positive the reason for all of this is probably a UTI or kidney infection OH YAY!! lol I'm going to call my doctor in the morning. Thanks for everyone's help!

I would call your Dr they maybe able to calm your fears or get you in for a checkup. I wouldn't go to the er unless your Dr tells you to do that. Many times at this stage you won't feel the baby for a few days.

Put a flashlight up to your belly. Babies dont like the light and they move away. I havent felt my baby move in a few days, did this last night, and felt them move.

I would try drink some ice cold water first and lie on you left side for two hours and monitor any movement. If you get nothing then yes I'd give your doctor a call x
