That strict parents mean sneaky kids? Have you experiened anything like this or this fault. Are you a strick parents or a ehhh parent?

Lol soo true ... my mom and dad thought they where so smart but sneaky was my middle name ... now I'm 29 and have kids of my own my oldest is 13 he's very clever the new generation has us beat by far not even kidding

I wasn't aloud to do anything so I was sneaky and snuck out . You can still let your kids do stuff and be strict. If you don't let them do anything you are going to get sneaky kids.

I was raised by super strict grandparents. Like psycho crazy strict about things I just didn't understand. Later in life I got to live with my parents on the weekends and they knew what I was going through and definitely were not strict. I was suuuuuuper sneaky behind my grandparents backs because I knew I was being treated unfair. I had a lot of sleepovers my high school years so I could have fun with friends.

Mom was excessively strict, she's got a very controlling personality (she needs to be in control) and I have a very rebellious one(You can't tell me what to do I can make my own decisions). She was also a 'because I said' instead of explaining her reasons parent. I think I would have responded better to explanations for rules, because it would have given me the information to make my own choices with her side and mine. I was also the only girl and found it unfair I had different rules than my brother. She had my oldest brother when she was 15, so she was projecting who she was at that age onto me when I was very different personality wise. I got very good at lying and sneaking around. My parents think I was such a good kid and never tried drugs or alcohol or anything(tried both before finishing highschool) :/ and I didn't become anywhere near close to my mom until I moved 12 hours away and got space from her.

My parents were pretty strict. I never really did much never partied always did well in school I always listened to everything they told me to do and not to do for the most part. Only things I ever caught myself lieing about was once I was a little older and had boyfriends and I wanted to spend the night with them. No boy could ever stay over our house. Only time was if there was a damn good reason and he had to be downstairs on the couch no where near my room. So I started pretending I was staying at friends houses on weekends and would spend the nights at my boyfriends instead. Other than that though I never stuck out I never did drugs I never failed classes or skipped school. I think it really all depends on the person. Some people have strict parents and it makes them rebel because they are told no so much other parents are so friendly that their children do end up into drugs and alcohol and not going to school. But that's not necessarily true all the time. My sister had the same parents I did and she still attempted smoking pot, she still tried pills, she still got suspended from school. That's the scary thing about being a parent. You never know how your child will react and turn out Because what works for one kid might notfor the other.

My parents were overly strict and to boot didn't explain their rules (the "because I said so" approach) so I constantly lied to them and snuck around behind their backs. It greatly impacted my relationship with them growing up. My friends parents even thought they were excessively strict. My husband on the other hand had parents who talked to him and gave him boundaries and guidance but not just a shit ton of unnecessary rules and he never really had to lie to them and never was a crazy partier. We both obviously turned out ok but I will absolutely be taking a different approach with our children.

Yup I got good at night getting caught and coming up with on the spot lies. It's good to be strict at times, but you also have to remember what it's like to be s kid/teenager and make sure you communicate with them and they understand why you're being strict.

It's the difference between teaching a child to make choices based on external factors (fear of punishment) and internal factors (doing what is right). That's why strict parents have sneaky kids. The kids are taught to behave based on who is watching and whether they get caught.
